41/100 ‘the execution on the hillsides’

One day all flags and songs, the next
Black with guns, loudspeakers, lamentation,
And men scattered to the caves and the bitter shores.
Then trial and sentence and the execution on the hillside

[from ‘A landlady in Emmaus’, George Mackay Brown Following a lark]

  2. Amazon have his 'Collected poems 1954-1992' for 12p + £2.80 p&p which is a good introduction, others are mostly out of print or collectors items; the newer Complete (which I don't have) £16.

    1. Hm - not any more they haven't. At least, I can't find it.
I'll keep an eye out. I really should be looking for Welsh stuff because we're off to Anglesey in a couple of weeks.
